Welcome to The Dolls House Drapers - Little Trimmings
I would like to say a huge welcome to all the new customers who are following along the journey of Little Trimmings. As of the 5th December I have taken over the running of Little Trimmings and will be merging it withThe Dolls House Draper.
Christine has done an amazing job of running Little Trimmings and I promise you can expect the same level of customer service with me. With the combined collections I hope you will be able to find the perfect haberdashery item you are looking for.
Moving forward I will be starting to add the items to both the Etsy site and the website straight away but it is going to take time so please bear with me. In the meantime you are more than welcome to drop me a message whether it to enquire about stock or just introduce yourself, I will look forward to hearing from you.
From the late 80s my Mother-in-law Hilary Spedding fell in love with everything miniature.
In the late 90s Hilary collated all the products into a mail order catalogue but this eventually wasn't a viable way of showing what she had to offer.
In 2009 I set up a website where customers in the UK were able to buy our fabrics and trims but shortly after that I found out I was pregnant with our first child. Juggling a new baby, studying at college and Hilary's on going illness meant we were unable to give the business our full attention and it slowly came to a halt. Sadly in 2011 we lost Hilary after a very long illness.
In 2018 all The Dolls House Draper stock was brought from West Yorkshire to East Yorkshire and set up in its new workshop and storage space. My youngest child was due to start school in September and I made the decision this was the time for us to come back to the miniature world.
Today The Dolls House draper stocks thousands of fabrics, ribbons, lace and trimmings imported from over 15 countries. Many of our cotton fabrics are vintage pieces from the 80's and 90s.
